Simply way, way too cool. :coolshade :coolshade :coolshade Sled-bunny magnet on the trails!!! :poto:

I call shotgun!

I'm gonna do just the inverse... I'm gonna drop a 601 body on a 3500 GMC! Riding large in the hood. :17875:

Minor ones....aux. hydraulic pump had a leak, changed the pump, today I snapped the belt, probably due to the oil:rolleyes: the belt looked fine until examined closely. :pat:

My favorite Thiokol :coolshade:coolshade

Wish my Astro van had had that much traction :yum:

Thanks

Infuenced by bobp and snowops, instigated by mainer, heres a short clip........MAINER Your turn !!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnzdaX72GnY

OK, OK, here is some old footage I had when I was traveling around the world test driving historical tracked rigs ... some of these just real beasts but they all failed in comparison to the over-powering beastlyness of the 601 !!! :17875: Most of this footage was taken by friends traveling along side in one of my 601's while I test drove all of these other vehicles! :yum: Whenever I got any of these rigs stuck then usually the 601 was used to just pull them right out... whew! :coolshade :pat:  :drink: :1062:

Looks quite similar in design to the 62,000 pound Army Musk Ox we have here. Mainer, I think it calls for you to restore it. 700 hp four speed Allison power shift 50+ mph comes with spares government price 1,250,000 the ultimate tracked carrier. :yum: You know it is Airforce 601 Blue

Heck, I would like that :17875: ...but there are a couple of bridges that would have to be "beefed-up" to hold 62,000 lbs.:bonk:

Thiokol2Track:

What's interesting about your van conversion is that you've been able to capitalize on the creature comforts of a high-volume, low-cost van body and interior. Snowcats in the realm of our group didn't get produced in these 100K volumes which enabled lower-cost manufacturing coupled with nice interiors, etc. There's some merit to doing such a conversion. It would be really interesting if a van could be made without the wheelwells, since it would look like it was produced exclusively for a snowcat.

I agree fully...and I think T2T has a very lucrative market just sitting there in front of him with cash to be made!!!! Take that van and market it right... pick up a bunch of commoditized blah-blah-2100's and 3700's for a song...they're everywhere... profits to be made!

thats a phat -cat....I put my kitty on a diet....In 6 weeks she lost 16":yum: and got new belts:thumb:
