OK people the time is fast approaching when we will finally have closure to this long awaited one of a kind Kristi KT-7 restore. We all know BigAl has completely rebuilt this unit and she is now 1000 times better than when it was new from the Kristi factory. SO the question is how fast do you think the YETTI will go? GOOD LUCK BigAl. Just know we will be standing behind you in this test. Way way behind you. :yum:
 
I voted 12 to 15. But it could go faster, actually 18 to 22 would not surprise me at all. I doubt it will top 23 because very few snowcats of any brand will go over that speed.

We are presuming that the hydraulic system is plumbed right this time :poke:
 
Need more data and I tell you. Al what is the pitch on your tracks? How many teeth on your sprocket? and do you know what the reduction is in your chain drives? and one more thing do you know if the right angle drives are 1:1 With that I will come very close if they stick with the stock pumps and motors which are .913 cubic inch per rev.:thumb: motor tops at say 4000 rpm's he most likely will run out of HP unless he is going down hill and if he going down a big hill and both chains break in his chain boxes on both sides he could hit 60mph otherwise with out the data I would guess he will on the flat be out of hp at 14-16 mph :yum:
 
I think she will do a little over 60 MPH or maybe even 70 on the flats :thumb: . Oh wait .... Are we talking about me towing it behind my Ford Truck or just what yetti can do on her own ???

Oh yea Brad !!! I'll just jump right out and get that information for you . I actually understood where you said my name ,but everything after that is kinda fuzzy .I'll try to answer as best i can :

1. The pitch appears to be from a Pine tree but it may be Blue spruce.Real sticky !
2. 3 teeth left on one side , 4 on the other . 2 are capped and one has a cavity . One got knocked out in a fight with Mouse Ear .....
3. Yes ,there is 1 right angle pump on each side .So it would be 1 left and 1 right .
The pumps are now Gold Plated or they should be for what they cost to rebuild . Does that make a difference ??

Lets just say only two people so far are even close to guessing the Top Speed . WOO HOO !!!!!
I am one happy Camper . Yetti Runs like a Raped Ape !!!! I should know for sure tomorrow about a actual top "certified" speed when we do a couple more test runs .:17875:

As of right now it over 25 MPH !!! It climbs like a goat too !
I have some fine tuning to do tomorrow but "unbelievable" is a big understatement !!!
I'll tell the rest in my KT7 thread .

Congradulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEA HAW!!!!!!!!!! I was the one that picked between 21 and 25. Guess I should have picked higher! Did they end up using two pumps! Never mind I will head over to the other thread!
